Family Reunion with FAM BAM; Mama Mercy’s Second Death Anniversary

Nothing beats the Yuletide Season, when you spend it with your loved ones- your family and closed relatives. Today, marks another year of reunion, reminiscing good memories from the entire quarter from another year; gathering all together as one big family, not just for the sake of Christmas, but for remembering a woman.

A woman of great honor and dignity, a responsible daughter, a loving mother, a caring sister and a sweet grandmother to each one of us; I miss Mama Mercy, how I wish she’s here with us to celebrate Christmas. But I know she’s happy watching over us. And we are all guided by her in our everyday lives. We are all gathered today to reunite and make this day remarkable, for us to make another good memories for the year 2012.
Wherever Mama is right now, I know she loves what we are doing and what she’s seeing. She would surely be proud of us, if only she’s here. But although she’s no longer physically around, she’ll always be present. She’ll always be remembered. In our hearts and minds’ she’s nothing but a daily breathe and heartbeat. We love you, Mama. Merry Christmas! These are all for you. 

Second to the last day of our stay in SQ today, so we have to make the most of it. Spend it wisely with them. This only happens once every year, being with my cousins is a big difference, having all these kids around makes me want to stay even a bit longer. Let me introduce to you my cousins. My cute, little cousins in the house;
Via- my cute little girl whom I used to carry when she was still small.
Ignacio- my ever naughty baby boy whom I used to play with and technically hate when he was still young.

Sonnielo- the ever responsible kuya of Via, Ignacio and Vired.
Vired- my baby boy. My lovely little boy. He’s my first god son. 
Jaco- the handsome kiddo who’d rather spend this time playing instead of being with us. Teehee.
Fonsy- my ever active and sociable cousin. In addition with his chubbiness. Cute. 
Gelo- my ever talkative little cousin yet super generous and knows how to respect the elders.

The elders, Ina, Kuya Alison, at Maybelle and their daughter Bella, and Meg were there too. My aunties, Tita Dina, and Tita Trina. And of course my uncles Tito Michael, Tito Milo and Tito Poying.

So what was the main highlight of our Christmas Party slash Family Reunion this year- our clan didn’t hosted the event this year, instead it was the Rama family’s turn. Next year it would be the Santoses, here in Manila. Well, I was really expecting for the mobile bar, same as what had happened last year. Plus the overflowing drinks, yeah. Booze nights with cousins for two consecutive nights. Party games such as calamansi relay. (Whereas all girls from each generation won), from the kiddos to us teenagers and to the elders. Go girls! Losers ang boys. :P

Statue dance for the kiddos, Insert the finger game- (where Sonnielo and I won), Pinoy Henyo for all ages. (Again, we won. This time with Ignacio). It was hilariously delivered by my kwelang uncles Tito Michael and Tito Dino, everybody was bursting cause of laughter. And by the way, our party is also being seen from the other side of the world- live via satellite to London. Teehee. Thanks to Skype. 

And what else? Of course we’ll never forget the dance competition between boys and girls. This time, with a little bit pressure cause we have to defend our title from last year’s glory. It was a close fight though. We thought we’ll win again, but kudos to the boys for getting the title this year- it was really entertaining after all. I won’t trade such great performance from any other comedy shows on TV. My cousins are really awesome. I just hope and wish that we’ll get to continue this annual reunion. Without any excuses, no whatsoever- because this is a must from now on.

I just do hope, after several years we’ll get to continue on such tradition. Even when we get old already. This is the only time of the year when I get to meet some of our relatives whom I rarely see. Some are like really new to my sight, for I haven’t seen them in a while. Tita Bessie, Tito Tommy, Tita Danila, Tito Sandro, Tita Dhalia, Kuya Raymond. Omg. Baby Dwayne- the super cute and bouncing baby boy whom I adored seeing every year, Franzine his sister who speaks good English and I find her really pretty. Sophia the super cute little girl with the curly hair as well.
Seriously, if only I had the chance and the capacity to record everything in a gadget or better in my memory called ‘store everything here’, I wouldn’t be having a hard time recalling everything that had happened today. Even when I aged, even when I lose my memory. How I wish I could really stock them into such file. I know it hasn’t been created by anyone else. This is another remarkable and unforgettable time of the year, where we all gather to see each other; Coming together as one having one similar goal. 

The rest of the night was spending it with my cousins through the accompaniment of good music from the mobile bar and cold boozes. Do some catching up with each other, made plans for the coming events and stuff. Really, I’ll never trade such experience with any other luxurious things here in the city. Although the party wasn’t that wild, I know I enjoyed every pinch of it.
And as I go back to the city tonight- I am wearing a big smile on my face. Having a bigger heart. These holidays gives me so much to think about, to recall and thank God for. It has been another great year. Thank you, Lord. For making my Christmas- CHRISTmas. Thank you for making it possible. Cheers.

With all the lights in the city, tonight… I miss the spring breeze coldness of the air from SQ. The noise from all the vehicles here in the city, tonight… I miss the giggles and screams of my little cousins. Good night, Manila. I’ll see you in my dreams, SQ.
