BRAIN TWISTER FOR TONIGHT. I MISSED THIS KIND OF BRAIN ACTIVITY.
1)
Explain why a smart person may not be wise.
How do we really
measure man’s individuality? How about man’s capacity as a human person? In
this indubitable world, we cling so much,
and look up to those people, who by any chance, moves us. By that, I mean we
find something special in them, that we don’t normally see. We get to admire
them, and sometimes,
we get to imitate them, for their distinct and extraordinary
qualities. Nonetheless, when we talk about these people, we substitute them to
the idea of someone
who is
“smart.” But what then is it, to be really smart? Does it require a particular
ratio of intelligent quotient? Or perhaps by the number of credentials achieved
in life? Does it only linger on the academic persuasions of man? In my contention,
a smart person is not necessarily equated to being wise. Because being “wise”
speaks about a foreseeing vision of what is in hand. Being wise is not
accustomed with scholastic records, but on the way he handles situation.
Example, a streetwise person is not smart, hence he solves problems without
being obvious, and nonetheless, he does it spontaneously- with a bang.
2)
If everything in the world had to change to the same color, what color would
you choose and why?
Color gives us
light, it changes us. It transforms us. Yet, if I were to pick a color that
would transubstantiate everything, I’ll have it in grey. Although, the Yin and
the Yang of the Chinese civilization, thus the government propagandas as well, speaks
with the contradiction of black and white,
I think it would then solved and promulgate a unity. By the color grey. It
signifies bridge. A unifying color that builds a harmonious recipe to the
problem of all colors in the color wheel. Thus, I associate it with life. The
more we immerse ourselves into chaos, the more complication we get. Hence, the
more we get insensitive, the less involvement we get. So, with the color grey,
I am playing a safe stand, a safe road to be travelled, by having it everywhere,
the more we affirm peace, hope and unity among all the elements of the society.
3)
You are a piece of paper. Describe how we should use you before you get
recycled.
I am a piece of paper, undermined. Given less importance
and attention, yet still provokes a certain value. I may not be noticed, for I am
not as useful as the other pieces of paper, or not that appealing to the eyes
of many, or they
choose
to be use in a decorative way, such as the canvasses, portfolios and the like.
But, come to think of it, I am a piece of paper. You didn’t notice me, but more
than anyone else, I am the best object that sacrificed a lot for you. I allowed
you to use me by any means, without restrictions. You can use my as a scrap
paper, a piece of sheet that could be used to fill in your vase of flowers, you
may even use me as form of lottery. I am not giving in for the recycle bin yet,
until you come to realized and appreciate my worth as a piece of paper. Notice
me, for I,
may be this tiny, but I am the only one that you could you as a sacrificial
object, as a doormat to your future use.
4)
Is a glass half full or half empty? Explain your choice.
I feel empty. No,
I am feeling empty. The question is, can we really be empty? Does it help us to
go back to the idea of the problem evoked of the black hole? In my supposition,
there is no such thing as empty, but we do really feel empty, sometimes. In
fact, it is natural. Just like in the working analogy of a glass. It appears hollow
to the naked eyes, without being filled with anything. Particularly by water,
hence, in reality it is hall full. It is filled with something that we cannot see.
Thus, for a fact, we know that there is something in it. Precisely, the air. Or
maybe, the gas. Such a glass is filled with invisibility, that the air or the gas
occupies the imaginary, yet the real. A matter that is in it, that makes the
glass hall full.
